Higher Ground Ranch’s name was derived from the Van Morrison song “Whenever God shines His light”. At present it consists of approximately 782 acres of beautiful wilderness. The North and East boundaries are bordered by approximately 17,530 square miles or 11,223,000 acres of BLM and National Forest. One can hike or ride a horse 330 miles to the Canadian border unobstructed. Higher Ground Ranch has many uses. The foremost uses are timber harvesting, growing hay for the cattle, and a private hunt & fish club. During the warmer season the ranch hosts supervised camps for fatherless children from local churches. Also, wildlife photographers have enjoyed experiencing nature at it’s best.
At Higher Ground Ranch you’re never alone, God is with you always.
